Requiem schmid torrent

The story is very much a slow burn and the film relies heavily on the central characters and situation; all of which is well defined and compelling. We get to know the central character very well so when her path takes a dark turn, it is not what we wanted for the character! The story explores the boundaries between faith, medicine and psychosis and is ambiguous enough to ensure that we are left to decide…. Religious repression, guilt and dogma, as well as questions of identity and belonging form the core of Requiem, director Hans-Christian Schmid's achingly sad, deeply disturbing drama based on the real-life story of Anneliese Michel, who died of exhaustion and starvation in the s, following a series of exorcisms performed on her.

When her epileptic attacks start to return, Michaela along with a priest and her mother comes…. I am not a religious person. I don't believe in god but im fine with people who do. With that said I don't want to offend anyone. This film tells the dark story off Anneliese Michel who died of negligence because she endured multiple exorcisms over a time span off 10 months. She herself believed that she was possessed and wanted to die for the sins off the youth. The film focusses on the time before the exorcisms started and shows how Anneliese Michel who suffered from several psychoses started to believe that her sickness is not a normal sickness but a possession.

It scares me to see what religion can do with you when you are a extreme believer and you have a psychoses. This scares me more then any other horror story. In this case the horror is religion. Based on the same true story that inspired The Exorcism of Emily Rose , [and the very unfortunate found footage sh tfest Anneliese: The Exorcist Tapes ]. Quietly supported by her father, and despite her extremely closed-off and domineering mother's objection, Michaela takes a chance and begins to attend a local school.

Initially all is well, but eventual epileptic attacks result in an unbalance in her mental state. Frustrated by the inability of doctors to treat her Michaela seeks the help of a priest, thinking her faith may be to blame.

With no special effects and a clear leaning towards scientific fact vs. Especially one moment towards the end of the film has stuck with me ever since: The moment her character talks about a particular saint of the Catholic church a saint that was made up for the purpose of this film , and calls her "a martyr". Requiem was inspired by real invents - in fact, the same that also inspired the very different The Exorcism of…. I'm personally not a religious person, at all.
